As an undergraduate from National University of Singapore, everyone thought we will be the high flyers of the society in accordance to our own discipline of study. I graduated from Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Automotive Engineering and all my family members have high hope in me for achieving something in my life.
But what is the something that I am looking for? I was not very sure about it. Time before my graduation, I already had more than enough job offers for me to choose but I was lost. I still remember I got this interview Mr. Darric Seow from Peter Tan Organization (PTO®) through job website from my school. It was pretty interesting to attend a job interview with an insurance agency when I actually worked in the industry before. But back then, I was very resistive towards insurance company because I do not want to be just an agent for the rest of my life.
Unlike any other insurance agency, Peter Tan Organization (PTO®) gave me a feeling that they are not just an insurance agency and I felt that I could benefit a lot from this organization if I were to join. Even so, I decided to join an engineering consultancy company after my graduation as that was what my parents’ hope and dream. Even when I was working in the engineering consultancy firm, I was still in touch with Mr. Darric Seow as I am looking towards him as a mentor in my life. He bought me to seminars, talked to me when I was lost in my career and gave me a lot of guidance along the way. It made me feel that Peter Tan Organization (PTO®) is different from others by looking at the blazing passion that the managers have in the organization. And that was when I decided to give it a try in this new industry.
I joined the organization after working 6 months as an engineering consultant. It was not an easy decision as I was dumping my ‘high pay’ job which everyone actually called me stupid. My difficult time started then as I was struggling with a lot of new things I do for my career. Thanks to the organization with well organized system and devoted managers, I sailed through smoothly till where I am today. Although I am not successful yet, but I believe I will if I put in my heart and soul with the guidance that this organization can give me.
To me, Peter Tan Organization (PTO®) is not just an organization about sales target. It is a family where people love, care and respect each others. I am always learning new thing everyday in my life with the organization and I strongly believe that I can achieve greater height with the organization. Thanks Peter Tan Organization (PTO®)!
